CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 3/24:
I just wanted to check in with all of you to let you know the latest regarding my practice, your therapy, and current concerns about COVID-19. A lot has happened in the last two weeks, and I know that you are concerned, as am I, about how to stay safe while managing your response to the number of unknowns facing us.
Therapy is considered an essential service for good reason--it can offer support, guidance, compassion, and caring in difficult times. To that extent, please know that I remain available to you during this time in the following ways:
- In Person: I am keeping my office open after weighing the many pros and cons, deciding that it is important to be here for clients who prefer in-person sessions. Office hours are Tuesday 9am-noon/6-pm-9; Wednesday 9am-230pm; Thursday 6pm-9; Saturday 9am-230.
- By Video: I am offering video sessions for both individual and couples who prefer to not come in but want to continue their therapy work. If you choose to use video, I have a short consent form and a simple guide to send you to get you all set up. You would need to have a strong internet connection, some privacy, and a device with a camera and a microphone. To learn more about video sessions, please click HERE.
- By Phone: These phone sessions work surprisingly well!
My hours are not changing, and I am dedicated to keeping the office environment as safe as possible for you to be in, with regular Clorox wipe-downs of commonly touched surfaces and regular disposal of used tissues. It goes without saying, but I would not come in were I to feel ill, and I ask that you not come in if you feel ill. In that case, options 2 or 3 would be preferable.
Many of the issues we discuss in session are internal, and many are external. I want to emphasize that when faced with something we have little control over, the one thing we DO have some control over is our response to it. Let's work on this together.
If you want to take a break to focus on being safe at home at this time, that is understandable. If you have been financially impacted in a way that affects your ability to come in, please contact me directly to discuss a temporary rate reduction. Again, I remain available to you however it works best for you! We will get through this together, and find the silver linings, just like we do with every difficult challenge. That is how we get
through!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns by emailing or phoning me directly.
