CORONAVIRUS NOTICE TO CURRENT CLIENTS:
This special newsletter is to address the coronavirus pandemic and let you all know how I intend to address that in my practice so that your access to therapy can continue without additional anxiety or concerns. Your physical and emotional health is my greatest focus!
- First off, please do not come in if you are not feeling well. It is never a good idea to come in if you are ill, as I have to ensure that clients can come in without being exposed to any illnesses. If you’ve been exposed to anyone with the Covid-19 virus, been in an airport, or showing any symptoms of ANY illness including a fever, I can easily convert your appointment to a telehealth session. Please wait 14 days after
any fever has subsided before coming in for an in-person appointment.
- I am willing to loosen my cancellation policy for last minute cancellations due to illness, but will look at each situation individually. For last minute illnesses where you don't want to miss the session, I can offer you the option of a phone or video session (for individuals) or video session (for couples). Conversely, if I feel ill I will notify current clients asap. Since there is currently no freely available test for the virus, it is best to
stay home if feeling ill with the listed symptoms.
- If you are hesitant about coming into the office either because you are ill or because you are social distancing, please let me know ahead of time. I am happy to arrange telehealth sessions for you. If choosing a video session, I would ask that you sign a telehealth consent form first, which I could easily email you from your client portal. If you have questions about telehealth, please check out this FAQ.
I encourage you to get information from reputable sources, and here is one I recommend:
If you have a New York Times subscription, you can also sign up for their updates, which come out more frequently.
In addition, I am taking the following steps to ensure everyone's safety and health:
- I will be using Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to clean frequently touched areas such as chair arms and the water dispenser nozzles between sessions.
- As most of you know, I open and close the office door for you so there is no need to touch the doorknob.
- Starting in April (because of back-order) I will have Hand Sanitizer with 70% alcohol available in the office for clients to use.
- The trash can will be emptied daily of used kleenex and other trash.
- I have removed magazines from the waiting room for the time being to eliminate items which are touched by many people.
It is still best to come into the office for sessions, of course, and safe to do so, but I trust that you will make the best choices for yourselves. I want to ensure that you feel safe coming in, since therapy can help alleviate the effects of stress, worry, and anxiety about the unknown and may be needed more than ever right now. Be assured that your well-being is still my top priority!
This is a stressful time full of unknowns, but I want you to know that I am here for you to help you respond to what is going on and keep your relationships strong and secure. We will get through this together and find a way to be better as a result of our effort.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, or if you want to have your session via phone or video-conference. Stay well!
